Trump calls for Putin to release info on Hunter Biden business dealings

Former President Donald Trump has publicly asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to release any dirt he might have on Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden is President Joe Biden’s son, who has been a part of several controversies over the past few years.

According to NBC News, Trump jumped on a claim about Biden’s business dealings in an interview with Just the News. The claims state that Biden obtained a large payment from Elena Baturina, who is the wife of the former mayor of Moscow.

Trump asked Putin to provide details. “She gave him $3.5 million, so now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. I think we should know that answer.”

This information came from a Senate report published weeks before the 2020 election which also discussed Biden’s role on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Putin had said in October 2020 that he was unaware of any business ties between Biden Baturina.

Hunter Biden’s legal team had also told NBC News back in 2020 that Biden had “no interest” in that firm that received the money, so “the claim he was paid $3.5 million was false.”

Trump released a statement Wednesday afternoon. “In time, Russia may be willing to give that information,” he said.

Trump had previously pressured the Ukrainian government to dig up dirt on Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden as he was seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. This eventually led to Trump’s impeachment.
