Musician Eric Clapton says people who get the COVID-19 vaccine are under ‘hypnosis’

Musician Eric Claption, who is vocal in his stance against vaccines, said this weekend that people who receive the COVID-19 vaccine and wear masks because of mandates are under ‘hypnosis.’

Appearing on the Real Music Observer YouTube channel, Clapton discussed how he came to believe in ‘mass hypnosis formation’ which asserts the media is delivering subliminal messaging regarding vaccines and mask mandates.

Clapton says he was ‘duped’ into getting the COVID-19 vaccine last year. “Then I started to realize there was really a memo, and a guy, Mattias Desmet [professor of clinical psychology at Ghent University in Belgium], talked about it,” Clapton said. “Once I kind of started to look for it, I saw it everywhere.”

The former Cream guitarist went on to describe the way his belief in the conspiracy has caused distance between himself and his friends and family.

“Over the last year, there’s been a lot of disappearing — a lot of dust around, with people moving away quite quickly. It has, for me, refined the kind of friendship I have. And it’s dwindled down to the people that I obviously really need and love,” he said.

“My career had almost gone anyway. At the point where I spoke out, it had been almost 18 months since I’d kind of been forcibly retired,” Clapton said of the time before he decided to start speaking out against vaccine mandates.

“I would try to reach out to fellow musicians and sometimes I just don’t hear from them,” he said. “My phone doesn’t ring very often. I don’t get that many texts and emails anymore.”
