Elon Musk hints at SURPRISING pick for Presidential race in 2024

Elon Musk said that he would likely vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, for president in 2024.

Musk was asked early Wednesday morning on Twitter who he was “leaning towards” voting for as president, and he responded: “DeSantis.”

Musk did say that he supported the Democratic candidate Andrew Yang in the 2020 election but believes DeSantis “has a better chance of winning” in the upcoming election.

In his tweets, Musk also said he voted for the Republican Mayra Flores, in Tuesday’s special election for Texas’ 34th congressional district. Flores defeated the Democrat Daniel Sanchez to replace former Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela, who resigned from Congress in March.

“I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican,” Musk tweeted in a response to the news outlet’s post. Musk confirmed in late 2020 he had moved to Texas, where he later relocated Tesla’s headquarters from California after complaining about the strict regulatory environment. “Massive red wave in 2022,” he tweeted.

Another account with the name Spidey_ElonFan responded to Musk asking, “But your political donations will be evenly spread out, as you do always. Right??”

“I’m thinking of creating a ‘Super Moderate Super PAC’ that supports candidates with centrist views from all parties,” Musk replied.

Asked about Musk’s tweet at a press conference on Wednesday, DeSantis said, “I’m focused on 2022, but with Elon Musk what I would say is, you know, I welcome support from African-Americans. What can I say?”

Last month, Musk said he would vote for Republicans in upcoming elections though he said he’s voted for Democrats in the past, including former President Barack Obama.

Musk said he has voted for Democrats “because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.”

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), who represents parts of the Bronx and Westchester County, tweeted on Wednesday: “Elon Musk is not a leader. He’s just another Republican billionaire who supports white supremacy and authoritarianism because he doesn’t want his workers to unionize or to pay his fair share in taxes.”

Bowman added: “The GOP just tried to end democracy and now he’s supporting them.”

Jemele Hill, the former ESPN host, tweeted: “Yet another example of people throwing that genius label around way too casually.”

“EM is just another entitled, self-absorbed rich guy who really is only interested in protecting the interests of the billionaire class,” she tweeted.
