This weekend former president Donald Trump gave an early endorsement for Sarah Palin, who last week filed with the FEC to run for Alaska House Representative.
In a statement issued via his Save America political action committee, Trump said, “Sarah shocked many when she endorsed me very early in 2016, and we won big. Now, it’s my turn! Sarah has been a champion for Alaska values, Alaska energy, Alaska jobs, and the great people of Alaska.”
Trump went on to praise Palin’s run as Sen. John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election. “Sarah lifted the McCain presidential campaign out of the dumps despite the fact that she had to endure some very evil, stupid, and jealous people within the campaign itself,” he said. “They were out to destroy her, but she didn’t let that happen.”
Trump also paid respects to the late Alaska Rep. Don Young, who passed away last month leaving the House seat vacant, calling the long-time DC politician “legendary.”
