BASED Rep. Matt Gaetz targeted by media SLANDER

Controversial Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz is once again making headlines this week, after a 2019 recording was released that reveals Gaetz telling Trump ally Roger Stone he would receive help from the former president should he be convicted by federal prosecutors.

Stone was facing prison time for several charges including obstruction of a federal investigation when he ran into Gaetz at an event at one of Trump’s properties in October. In a recording from the event, Gaetz is overheard telling Stone he believed Stone would be convicted but that Trump would make sure he did not spend a day in prison if he succeeded in protecting Trump in the investigation.

“The boss still has a very favorable view of you,” said Gaetz. He followed up by saying Trump had expressed his “favorable view” of Stone to Gaetz directly. “I don’t think the big guy can let you go down for this,” he continued.

In the same conversation, Gaetz is heard telling Stone he is working on securing a pardon for Stone from Trump, but that he does not feel secure speaking further on the matter at the event. “Since there are many, many recording devices around right now, I do not feel in a position to speak freely about the work I’ve already done on that subject,” Gaetz told Stone.

Gaetz mentioned on the recording that he had seen Stone’s name mentioned multiple times in the redacted portions of the Mueller Report, which had been released to some members of Congress. Gaetz told Stone he believed prosecutors would go after him. “They’re going to do you, because you’re not going to have a defense,” he said.

The Washington Post, which first reported on the footage, attempted to contact Gaetz about his conversation with Roger Stone in 2019. In a statement, Gaetz’s office told WaPo Gaetz “was not speaking on Trump’s behalf during the pardon discussion with Stone,” and that “His remarks about secret portions of the Mueller report were not specific enough to violate the terms under which he had been permitted to view them.”
