Florida Governor Ron DeSantis rejected an invitation to appear on ABC’s “The View” this week, citing the show’s prior history of bad-mouthing him.

“Are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Gov. DeSantis about all the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihood, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom?” asked Griffin, before listing a series of quotes by on-air hosts of The View bashing DeSantis over various political decisions he had made.

One quote by Sunny Hostin from June this year called DeSantis “a facist and a bigot” and referred to him as “DeathSentence.” Another quote by Joy Behar calls DeSantis “a negligent, homicidal sociopath” in August 2021. Behar also accused DeSantis of “coordinating with white supremacists.”

Griffin wrote, “We will pass on this offer.” The refusal comes in the same week a DeSantis spokesperson announced a “major announcement” coming from the Florida governor on Thursday. “Prepare for the liberal media meltdown of the year. Everyone get some rest tonight,” said the Tweet from DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw.

The announcement sparked speculation that the governor may be making an announcement pertaining to his intentions for the 2024 presidential race, but Pushaw has assured the public the announcement is “official business” and not related to the next race for POTUS.

Some polls are beginning to show the Florida governor’s rising favorability among Republican voters as more revelations about former president Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election are revealed in the January 6 Committee hearings.
